God’s Not Mucking About Eggs, Putin, and Why You Should Live Your Best Life Now
Ah, the world. What a mess. Racism, homophobia, spiralling egg prices—it's like we’re all extras in a poorly written apocalypse movie. But here’s the thing: maybe, just maybe, God’s teaching us another lesson. And this time, He’s not mucking around.
COVID? That was just a teaser, a little taster of what happens when we forget kindness, compassion, and looking out for each other. We were meant to learn to care, reconnect, and value humanity. But did we? Nah. We got back to our old ways—me, me, me. So now? It’s round two. And this time, it will hit harder, shake us more profoundly, and remind us just how fragile this setup is.
Global chaos. Putin’s out there, playing chess while the rest of us play checkers. He’s shaping up to be the daddy of it all, and like it or not, nobody’s stopping him. The rich will keep stacking their cash, freedoms will get tighter, innocent people will suffer—and egg prices? Oh, they’re not coming down anytime soon.
Piers Morgan? Looks like he’s trying to dodge the “Trump fan club” label—he’s been doing this forever, but what a joke he is. Morning Joe? He’s off doing whatever Morning Joe does, stirring the pot for his reasons. And Charlemagne tha God—seriously, who came up with that name? Sounds more like a medieval cosplayer than a media personality. But here’s the truth: we’re just tiny specks in this great big show, and when it’s all over, we leave with exactly what we came with—nothing.
Now, I’m no psychic, but Elon Musk? He’ll be buying up your news channels because, let’s face it, money talks. And as for Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Kimmel—don’t count on them sticking around. When restrictions on freedom of speech take hold (and trust me, it’s already happening), they’ll be silenced, and there’s nothing you can do about it. And TikTok? Stop wasting hours on it, rooting through your feed, because it will disappear, along with all those followers. Again, I’m not psychic, but I’d love to be wrong. Unfortunately, I’m afraid God’s not playing this time. We’ve lost humanity, and it’s showing.
Let’s pause for a moment on God. I’m not about to get preachy because I’m no saint—far from it. I pray, meditate, and hope, but I also live my life in a way far from spotless. Here’s the thing: if you’re truly free of sin, good on you—claim the title of "religious." But most of us? We’re just stumbling along, trying our best.
And what does any natural belief system teach us? Kindness. Empathy. Love for our neighbour, regardless of status, skin colour, or beliefs. If it doesn’t teach those things, let’s be honest—it’s not religion; it’s a man-made excuse to divide us. When God decides to teach us a lesson, it’s rarely subtle. COVID came along, forcing us to stop, reflect, and care for each other. And yet, here we are again—forgetting the lesson, falling back into me, me, me.
Now, I have another year of studying for my master’s, a mother with dementia, bills to pay, no job, relationship issues, and a massive strength and fitness challenge ahead of me. With the world going to pot, am I going to stop doing the things I can control or focus on the things I can’t control? I can control all of my own issues. But the world collapsing? Not a chance. Like I said, God’s not mucking around, even for the religious folks out there.
And I know you all have different problems—kids, homes, food, relationships—whatever it is. But these are things we can control. We can be kinder to our kids and teach them the values we want them to learn at home. If money’s tight? Well, you do what you’ve got to do. I had three jobs to help my mum and dad so they wouldn’t lose the house. But guess what? I focused on myself, not on what everyone else was getting. Oh boy.
But here’s the kicker: you can’t control any of it. God’s message isn’t subtle this time—it’s a loud, booming, cosmic, "Wake up!" The world’s going to do what the world’s going to do. So what’s the lesson? Live now. Worry less. Focus on what you can control.
I’m writing this because I felt lost for a while, too. Sad, hopeless, and depressed. But then I had an awakening. You won’t be able to control the chaos. We’re innocent bystanders in this mess. But you can control your thoughts, actions, and how you make the most of your days.
Do what makes you happy. Go out, eat the food you love (just don’t go overboard—health matters), travel to that place you’ve been dreaming of, meet new people, and connect with those who uplift you. Want to splurge a bit? Do it. Fancy a laugh at TikToks? Why not? Life’s too short to wait for “someday.” Someday might not come.
This isn’t about ignoring the madness; it’s about refusing to let it control you. God’s giving us a shove, not a nudge. So take the hint. Worry less, live more, and when it’s all over, you’ll at least be able to say, “I didn’t just watch it happen—I made the most of my time here.” That’s the point. Not just to survive the madness but to thrive despite it. Go on—live your best life. God’s giving you the nudge. Don’t waste it.
